公司介绍
BlueMatrix was founded jointly by Skye Hauptman and Patricia Horotan in 1999 after working at several investment banks and observing the often overly complicated and inefficient processes they had in place for the creation and dissemination of research.Patricia's background was technology, and Skye knew the business of investment banking and research. Our first client, a large regional bank, took a leap of faith in hiring us based purely on our knowledge of investment banking research and our idea that we could do things better. We worked together as a team in building the BlueMatrix platform: as new requirements were presented to us we wrote them into our program.Skye and Patricia both believe the size of the first client was crucial to our growth as an independent technology company. The client was large enough to have a complex process for publishing research, and many exceptions and special situations, while they were not so big as to transform BlueMatrix into a specialized consulting firm for a single client.BlueMatrix started with no outside investment, using Skye and Patricia's apartment as first office. We chose to build a web-based application because it was the most efficient way to transfer information and the most cost effective way of deploying a rapidly changing code base to multiple locations. As we signed additional contracts we expanded, always keeping expenses lower than our revenue while adding critical features brought to us by each new user. This enabled us both to grow rapidly without giving up the private ownership that has enabled us to focus on our development objectives and to continuously add new features to our core product based upon specific client requirements, ensuring the continued relevance of our platform and unmatched product features based upon specific user needs. We believe this development strategy is why the crisis from 2002 - 2003 did not put us out of business. In 2005, we added BlueMatrix Lite™, a free research distribution tool build in cooperation with Capital IQ. Development of this product was exclusively funded by BlueMatrix, yet through this partnership, Capital IQ provided the support we needed as a small company to manage the enormous inflow of research provider clients while BlueMatrix offered a simplified distribution process for Capital IQ to grow their business by adding large volumes of new research content to their platform. After launching Lite™, BlueMatrix began offering the service to additional research aggregators. As a result, Lite™ now distributes content from over 1000 research producers globally to multiple destinations. In 2010, BlueMatrix added new support teams and took over support of Lite™ from Capital IQ in order to create a truly vendor-agnostic free research distribution tool that has made BlueMatrix the standard for research distribution. In 2011, we added a new product suite to our core product offering with indigo™. With the addition of indigo™, we build upon our neutrality to offer a unique perspective on the research market as a whole. As a neutral technology service provider with a specific focus on the research space, we make sense of what is happening across the market, enabling all communication about research content to be managed via a single interface
