This position is for a native English translator at a company that develops apps and mobile games. Your main responsibilities would be to translate, localize, and proofread a variety of documents, including game content, descriptions and updates. You would also write and edit anything from user manuals to marketing documents. In short, you would ensure that all our products and documents maintain a high level of written English throughout.If you have a passion for the mobile gaming industry then this might just be the perfect position for you. You’ll be in a position to make sure that our apps are suitable for a Western audience.The primary working language here is Chinese, so being able to communicate with your colleagues is very important. You’ll also work closely with a (very capable) native Chinese translator; you will check through each other’s work and provide mutual support.

Main responsibilities:• Translating and localizing game content and other documents.• Testing games to ensure that the English is accurate and sounds natural.• Write test reports and collaborate with other departments to make sure the end product is high quality.• Keep up-to-date with current popular games and apps on the App Store.• Write reports on various games introducing them to your Chinese-speaking colleagues.Main requirements:• Excellent written English. Must be a native English speaker.• Solid Chinese skills in reading, writing (typing!), speaking and listening.• Good eye for details and spotting mistakes.• A love of mobile games would be a massive bonus.We’ll also equip you with an iTouch and get you to download and play as many games as you can.
