• More Support for Student-Teacher Relationships. Foreign teachers will be able to meet with students outside of the classroom, attend student functions, and provide pastoral care.

• Better Insurance Requirements. Foreign teachers will be required to have comprehensive insurance, which covers health, life, and accident insurance, as well as repatriation costs in case of emergency.

• More Opportunities to Teach Online. Foreign teachers will be able to teach online, either to individuals or to groups, and will be able to use online platforms such as Skype and Zoom for their teaching.

2023 brings with it revised regulations for foreign teachers in China, providing a more welcoming atmosphere to those arriving in the land, while simultaneously lifting restrictions on their teaching prospects.
