Why Teach English In China

Why teach English in China? Why are more and more people attracted there? If you want to know about these problems, this article may help you find out why. On the whole, this case study identifies five main reasons for foreign teachers' decision to immigrate to China as English teachers. English Teaching in China is more prosperous. According to the data collected, most teachers choose to immigrate to China as English teachers for the following reasons.

A larger and more organized English teaching Market:

Fewer qualifications are required than in most European countries. In most European countries/regions, you need to have strict teaching qualifications to teach English; but it is quite easy for native English speakers to get an EFL job in China - it is becoming increasingly difficult as China has recognized the quality of expatriate teachers and raised recruitment standards in many cities. An online TEFL certificate can take you there easily.

Better working hours, salaries, and rewards:

One responding teacher said, "if you choose to be a language teacher, you have to work on weekends." That's how the industry works. However, the working hours of most foreign teachers in China are relatively relaxed. As for the monetary gain, almost all the foreign teachers I have talked to have a higher standard of living for English Teaching in China than when they came back home. Their salaries must be higher than those of their local colleagues. Even foreign teachers without teaching experience can do more than experienced local teachers.

Travel and exploration:

China is one of the most typical places to take risks for expatriates dispatched spontaneously. According to a survey conducted by the company I studied, 143.6% of immigrants (143% of them) migrated to China to travel and explore. In my study, eight out of 15 teachers explicitly cited the same reason.

Chinese culture:

Culture, language and rapid social change. Some teachers who love world culture find Chinese culture and / or language interesting and decide to move to China to study and live in it. Rapid social and economic growth has made China a huge and growing market for almost everything. Some teachers just find such social change fascinating and want to be part of it when it happens.

Escape from home:

Some expatriates (not just teachers) leave their country in order to avoid certain things (personal problems or the political, social or economic environment of the country). (I wonder if there will be more foreign teachers from the United States in the next few years.)

The truth is, China is no longer a foreign country. It's growing so fast that it's really the best time to realize your dream and make it a reality.

Foreign teachers enjoy a high reputation in China. When you come to teach in China, you will find many. Not only about China, its long history or its delicious food, but you will also find a lot about yourself. Try for a year or two and you may find yourself wanting to stay in China longer!
