AI & Advanced Analytics Manager Salary – Circa ¥360,000 + Discretionary Bonus Benefits – Full extended corporate package Location – Beijing, China Start Date – January 2024 The Company One of the world’s leading financial services providers, this company has data-driven offices across multiple continents, comprising a team of over 100; Data Scientists, Analytics Managers, and Engineers. The data teams have seen continual growth throughout the past 3 years, with aggressive growth plans in 2024. Data insights are central to all business decisions, with much emphasis placed on machine learning and what data science-driven models can achieve during continued digital transformation and innovation. The teams look at much more than financial data; due to internal projects and partnerships with blue chip clients, they are able to work across a huge range of potential problems. The Chinese Analytics Centre of Excellence is responsible for collaborating with the global team in creating state of the art, end-to-end technology solutions. The Role The successful candidate will be very familiar with the link between data science, engineering and business needs. Although not a hands-on modeller, you will be able to take a multitude of complex problems and develop these into projects. These projects will be collaborations with the data team, and your role will be to translate the need into a solution, guiding data scientists and engineers, translating the problem and helping each other to deliver world class data products. There are no direct reports. As AI & Advanced Analytics Manager, you will have autonomy to lead your own initiatives. Your manager is a leader within global digital transformation projects with decades of experience and will work closely with you as a mentor. Collaboration is paramount, so this role will offer 2 trips per year to international conferences and events, so that you are able to meet your global colleagues and collaborate effectively. In summary, this is the liaison between the China business and the data science team. Skills and Experience Very good written and verbal English speaking and native Chinese. Engaging communicator – able to investigate problems across multiple departments/clients. A great listener. An experienced storyteller, able to translate business goals into data products, working with data scientists and engineers every step of the way, from beginning to deployment. Bachelor’s degree or higher – Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science. Experience in translating analytics problems into production-level solutions, ideally within a corporate environment. An effective project manager – organised, able to lead workshops, ideally with experience within a methodology such as agile or scrum. Excellent problem-solving skills – able to understand a range of business problems within financial services and to foresee an end goal. This would likely suit a person with 3-6 years of experience.
