Location: Home based within Europe Department: EU Market and Sales Team of C4 Platform About CovationBio CovationBio is a global leader in sustainable materials innovation. We are dedicated to delivering high-performance, bio-based solutions that help our customers and partners reduce their environmental footprint. Our newest breakthrough is a second-generation bio-based PTMEG (Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol) with feedstock from non-food sources, a key ingredient for high-quality, sustainable spandex and elastomers, targeting industries from performance apparel to footwear. We are seeking a pioneering professional to lead the market development and commercial adoption of this transformative material across the European value chain. Position Overview The Business Development Manager will be the commercial catalyst for our new bio-based PTMEG in Europe. This role is responsible for building and executing the go-to-market strategy, driving adoption from polymer producers (e.g., spandex manufacturers) through to end-use brand owners (with a focus on footwear). You will translate technical advantages into compelling value propositions, build strategic partnerships, and accelerate market penetration to establish CovationBio as the partner of choice for sustainable material solutions. Key Responsibilities • Strategy & Go-to-Market: Implement the regional market development strategy for bio-based PTMEG, identifying key segments, routes to market, and partnership opportunities across the polymer-to-brand value chain. o Customers and Value Chain Engagement: Proactively engage and build relationships with key stakeholders, including:  Polymer Producers: Polymer manufacturers (TPU, PU, TPEE, COPA).  Converters & Component Makers: Suppliers specializing in film, injection, extrusion, cast molding.  End-Use Brands: Direct work with leading consumer brands to drive specification and adoption of finished products containing our bio-based PTMEG in close collaboration with BioSpandex Huafon team. o Technical Marketing & Advocacy: Serve as the regional expert on the application of bio-based PTMEG. Collaborate with global R&D and technical teams to support customer trials, solve application challenges, and develop compelling case studies. • Commercial Partnership: Work closely with the global commercial and sales teams to negotiate and secure supply agreements, pilot projects, and long-term partnerships. • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive landscape, regulatory trends (e.g., carbon policies), and customer needs to inform product strategy and pricing models. Provide feedback to global leadership. • Liaison with advocacy group: you will have to represent CovationBio promote and monitor all activities around the legislation in Europe and all technical groups

Qualifications & Experience • Essential: o Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or a related field. MBA is a plus. o Minimum of 5 years of experience in market development, technical sales, or strategic marketing, specifically within sustainable materials, bio-based chemicals, or performance polymers. o Proven track record of working directly along the entire value chain on material development, sustainability projects, or innovation initiatives. o Strong technical knowledge of polymer applications related to use of elastomeric polymers such as TPU, PU systems, COPA and TEEE. o Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences. o Fluent business English (written and spoken) is mandatory to effectively collaborate with the global team. An additional language is essential. o Self-starter with strategic thinking, project management skills. o Ability to work remotely with minimum guidance while thriving in a cross-cultural, matrixed organization. • Highly Desirable: o Experience with PTMEG, spandex (polyurethane fiber), or related polyether/polyurethane chemistry. o Understanding of sustainability certifications, lifecycle assessment (LCA), and carbon footprint. o Proficiency in several European languages. o Based in a central location in Europe and willing to travel to visit customers and partners as business needed.
